Parent-Teacher Meeting dated 04/10/2021

Parent Teachers meeting was organized by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) on 04/10/2021 in the College auditorium, SKNMC, Pune between 11am to 4pm. This meeting was conducted for 1st year MBBS 2020-21 batch.

Attendees:

Honorable Director Dr. Arvind Bhore, Dean and the Chairperson of PTA Dr. Krishnakant Patil, Vice-chairperson of PTA Dr. Ajay Naik, Deputy Dean Dr. Nitin Joshi and Secretary of PTA Dr. Sanjana Nemade graced the dais. Co-ordinator of PTA Dr. Ruth Joshi performed the anchoring. Members of PTA Dr. (Col) P.S. Chawla and Dr. Sachin Wankhede, all teachers of 1st year MBBS, parents and students graced the occasion.

Meeting started with National Anthem and a warm welcome proposed by Dr. Ruth Joshi, coordinator of PTA.

Dr. Krishnakant Patil, Dean addressed the opening remarks. He explained the disciplinary measures to be followed by students and the need for parent- teacher collaboration in the students’ progress. He appealed to parents that their contribution will definitely enhance teacher’s efforts and will prove to be helpful for creating awareness within students for being disciplined and working seriously towards their academic outputs and attendance. The attendance and performance norms are to be strictly enforced and is the prerequisite for appearing for university examinations.

Dr Arvind Bhore, Director elaborated the student’s code of conduct. He emphasized to students and parents the need for incorporating moral and ethical values in medical education and also explained the institutional efforts towards it. He elaborated the importance of offline, evidence based, patient-oriented medical education. The online mode should be supplementary and not be the substitution for in-person education. He explained that quality education and quality patient care is the motto of our institution and he instructed all teachers to work sincerely towards it. He explained the discipline to be maintained inside and outside the hostel and institute premises. Consumption/possession of alcohol, smoking or use of tobacco, narcotic drugs and the related products are strictly banned in the hostel and institutional premises. Violation of the rules will be treated as serious offense resulting in stern disciplinary action. He explained the benefits and importance of physical, emotional and social health with few cultural and spiritual examples. For physical fitness, he encouraged all students to use the facilities of institutional Gym, and taking healthy food available in the hostel mess and canteen. He expressed his disappointment towards the student’s untidy, unclean dress up sense; overuse of electronic gadgets such as mobiles, tablets; bad eating habits. He provided strict instructions to students about improvement. He also appealed all parents not to provide vehicles to students as it is been misused by students thus adding nuisance to institutional policies.

Satisfactory notes were given by 4 parents and they also shared their concerns regarding hostel facilities which were addressed by the Director, Dr. Arvind Bhore. One parent addressed a note of gratitude to all teachers and appealed all parents to cooperate and collaborate in the institutional efforts towards student’s progress.

Dr. Sanjana Nemade, secretary of PTA expressed the words of gratitude. She also provided directions regarding “Teacher-Student-Parent interaction” and counselling in view of student’s academic progress and attendance. The interaction was organized in 3 lecture halls (Lecture hall number 3,4 and 5) and the college auditorium for various 1st year subjects. High tea was arranged in between the interactive session.
