Department - General Medicine

2018 was a year of accomplishments and growth for the Department of Medicine. The department gets recognition for 4 PG seats from MCI. First batch of 4 students passed with flying colours this year.

The General Medicine Department & Medicine Wards are located on the 4th &5th floor in the new building. There are five units in the Department & total 160 beds in the Medicine wards. There is Male Isolation Ward & Female Isolation Ward, located on the 5th & 4th floor respectively.

The MICU & ICCU are located on the 4th floor in the new Building. MICU has 14 beds and ICCU has 6 beds. The Intensive Care Unit has been recognized by Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) to start Indian Diploma of Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM) and Post MBBS Certificate Course in Critical Care from July 2016 onwards.

Medicine OPD, Specialty OPDs and Day Care center are located on ground floor in the new building. Medicine Department is involved in UG Teaching in the form of Lectures, Clinics, Tutorials, Seminars, etc.

Medicine Department has intake of 9 PG seats per year May 2017 onwards . PGs undergo regular academic training in the form of Lectures, Demonstration, Case Presentation, Teaching Rounds, Seminars, Group Discussion, Integrated teaching, CPC, Journal Club, Guest Lectures and Bed side teaching etc.

Under Department of Medicine Distant learning Program through the Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences, New Delhi, (ILBS) is completed as a Nodal Centre. Beneficiaries are PG Residents & Teaching Staff.

Intensive Care Unit

It consists of 14 bedded MICU and 6 bedded ICCU. The Intensive care unit has been recognized by Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) and approved to start Indian Diploma of Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM) and Post MBBS Certificate Course in Critical Care from the July 2016 onwards. All beds are equipped with ventilators and multipara monitoring. We also have MRI compatible ventilator, High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator (HFOV), Transvenous Temporary Pacemaker (TPI), Bedside 2D ECHO and Bedside USG.
