Integrative Medicine Research Department

The National Medical Commission (NMC) of India has mandated establishment of Department of Integrative Medical Research in medical colleges. The Sentiment behind the integration is to harness the combined power of advancements in modern medicine coupled with the traditional wisdom of restoration & promotion of wellness accrued by cultures over the centuries. In this context SKNMC&GH has taken a lead and established Mind-Body Medicine OPD in year 2023 which later merged in newly established department of Integrative Medicine Research on 14/10/24. Till date we catered approximetly about five thousand pateints.

The Department is actively involved in multidisciplinary research , Teaching undergraduate students conducting awareness workshops for SKNMC&GH teaching as well as non teaching staff along with regular patient services.

This department is actively involved in regular patients services that includes, health education , dietary & exercise. Counsellings , Yogic counsellins , Positive psychology, Yoga based neuro regulation traning ( YBNRT) & Relaxation techniques.

Department is involved in multidisciplinary research pertaining non communicable disease & yoga. It also conducts undergraduate ,PG and other therapist teaching on fundamentaly of integrative medicine.

It also conducts Mind-body Medicine awarness workshops on regular basis for teaching as well as non teachnig staff at SKNMC&GH.

Dr Leena Phadke was invited as a Guest Speaker at Bharati Vidyaspeeth Deemed to be University, IRSHA, Katraj, Pune to guide the faculty, students and yoga enthusiasts on the topic “Neuroscience of Yoga” from 21.06.2024 on occasion of International Yoga Day.
