The PROACT PuneCON organised on 23rd and 24th of August 2025
We, the members of Society of Aneasthesiogists Pune, proudly announce the successful organisation, execution and conclusion of our annual PuneCON The PROACT.
The PROACT PuneCON was organised on 23rd and 24th of August 2025 at Smt Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital, Pune.
The PROACT PuneCON revolved around the theme " obstetric Anesthesia - exploring new Frontiers".
This academic meet was preceeded by the obstetric Anesthesia Simulation workshop at Bharti Hospital simulation Lab. Conducted by Dr. Rajendra Patil , Dr. Jui lagoo and team. There were around 28 participants for the workshop.
The conference included excellent topics with focus on recent advances such as Anesthesia for EXIT procedures , role of POCUS in obstetrics and many more practical oriented discussions.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. A.V Bhore Sir Director Navale hospital Along with Dean Dr. K. Patil , Our SAMS office bearers , President Dr. Anita Nehete, Honorable secretary Dr.Rajesh Tagadpalle, Treasurer Dr. Vikas Karne and National GC member Dr. Indrani Hemantkumar, Our pioneer of PROACT Dr. H. K Sale , HOD Dr. Girish Saundattikar and President SAP Dr. Shalini Sardesai. Presidential address was delivered by Dr. Shalini Sardesai wherein she welcomed all dignitaries distinguished guest speakers and delegates. She thanked all the participants for the generous contribution,
our Director AV Bhore sir ,Dean Dr. K. Patil sir for their unconditional support and the senior faculty members and stalwarts of Anesthesia from the pune city branch for their constant support and valuable inputs in organising the conference. She also expressed gratitude towards the simulation team for the flawless conduct of the pre conference workshop ( first time in history of a city branch conference). Dr. Sardesai congratulated the entire team of SKNMCGH for the conduct of PROACT PuneCON and promised to conduct many more academic events in Pune. Dr. H K Sale sir talked how the PROACT was started and explained it's importance as It stands for PROBLEM ORIENTED ANESTHESIA IN CURRENT TOPICS.
Dr. A.V Bhore sir appreciated the SAP team for organizing such conference and promised that any academic activity on such a large scale can be conducted in the world class auditorium of SKNMCGH. He has always been supportive in conducting academic activities for undergraduate as well as post graduates.
The key events of the conference were the late Dr. A.M Deshpande oration which was delivered by Dr. Pankaj Kundra sir, Dean and HOD Anesthesia of JIPMER, Puducherry . Dr. Kundra delivered and excellent talk on " obstetric Anesthesia - challenges in India"
The second day highlight was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Anju Grewal. Professor and HOD Anesthesia, AIIMS Bhatinda. She addressed on the topic of Maternal cardiac arrest. All the sessions were very interactive and the delegates participated with great enthusiasm. The conference was complemented by the sumptuos meals and a super energetic and entertaining cultural evening followed by GALA Dinner. PROACT PuneCON summed up with vote of thanks by Dr. Neha Panse extending heart felt gratitude to all the participants, chief guests Dr. Kundra and Dr Grewal , all the delegates and the support staff of SKNMCGH. The PROACT Punecon 2025 witnessed a record 220 registrations and the conference was highly appreciated for its scientific content, time management, hospitality and food.. we promise to host many more scientific events in pune in near future.
