Department Of Pathology

A guest lecture was conducted in the Department of Pathology on 23^rd August 2024 from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm in the Pathology Demonstration room. The total number of attendees were 25 comprising of Teaching staff and Residents of Pathology department.

The lecture was conducted by Dr. Yogesh Pawade (MD, DNB Biochemistry, Associate Professor at Seth G.S Medical College and KEM hospital Mumbai). His special interests are Clinical Biochemistry, Quality Control of Laboratory processes and Medical Education Technology.

The lecture was delivered on the topic “Quality Control in Clinical Laboratory”. It included all the aspects of Quality control in laboratory namely, the Internal Quality Control, External Quality Control, pre-analytical, analytical, post analytical errors and their trouble shooting, Machine calibration and vigilance.

The lecture was concluded with a short interactive Question and Answer session.

Dr. Yogesh Pawade (MD, DNB Biochemistry), an Associate Professor at Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, is a highly accomplished individual with formal training in Medical Education Technology through ACME and GSMC-FAIMER International Fellowship. With over 14 years of academic experience and a remarkable acumen in Medical Education Technology, he has made significant contributions to various scholarly literature related to Biochemistry and Medical Education. Notably, he has co-authored a book on Clinical Cases in Biochemistry, aligned with CBME recommendations, published by Jaypee Brothers. Dr. Pawade has also received recognition for more than 20 International and National Publications, 1 Monograph, and 6 copyrights to his position. He has extensive experience in assessing the quality of laboratory processes and medical institutions as NABL Lead and Technical Assessor, ISO 15189 Trainer, ISO 15189 Consultant, as well as NMC Assessor. Dr. Pawade's expertise and accomplishments speak volumes about his exceptional abilities and unwavering commitment to excellence.
