SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME ON MEDICATION ERRORS AND RATIONAL PRESCRIBING
A Physical Sensitization Programme on Medication errors and Rational prescribing was successfully conducted by Dept. of Pharmacology. This programme was conducted for Post graduate Residents (JR-I) of SKNMC& GH, Pune on 12/09/2023 and 13/09/2023 at MET hall, SKNMC&GH at 1.30 pm .
Total 82 junior residents attended the programme. Dr. Sarang Deshmukh covered important points like definition of medication error, its possible causes, different types of errors along with examples. He also emphasized on measures to prevent these errors.
He also discussed rational prescribing. In this, he described various parts of prescriptions and contents of each part. He showed prescriptions from various clinical departments and discussed errors in those and suggested them not to commit mistakes in writing prescriptions.
