Department of Anaesthesia is located on 3rd floor in the new building. Anaesthesia services are provided for all surgical procedures in OT complexes spread over both old & new building. Apart from basic services anaesthesia care is provided to super specialty fields like plastic, paediatric, urosurgery laparoscopies, OMFS & neurosurgery. Anaesthesia services are also delivered at remote locations like MRI , CT, ECT, endoscopies , interventional radiology suite ,ophthalmic FFA and cath lab. We also run anaesthesia OPD and pain clinic. In addition, labour analgesia services are also provided in obstetrics. Both the OT complexes are well equipped with all the latest and state of the art equipment like Anaesthesia work stations, monitors, fumigation facilities and air conditioning. There is continuous centralized supply of Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, compressed air and vacuum to all OTs .The new liquid Oxygen plant meets the ever increasing requirement of central oxygen at various locations. Round the clock emergency and resuscitation services are provided in various areas of the hospital by qualified anesthesiologist.
The Department of Anaesthesia has an intake capacity of 21 PG seats for MD Anaesthesia as per MCI. In year 2018, 17 PGs took admission for MD Anaesthesia. PGs are actively involved in day to day anaesthesia practice & also participate in various conferences / CME’s at state & national level. Many PGs have presented papers / posters at these conferences along with faculty members.
In 2018, for the first time in India WRAH (World Restart A Heart ) day was conducted on 23rd Oct under the aegis of Indian Resuscitation council. Dr. Shalini Sardesai & Dr.Poonam Ghodki along with team of PGs & technicians conducted COLS workshop at SIMCA &SIT college where over 200 members were trained with COLS(Compression only life Support ).
