The Department of Surgery has 200 teaching beds equally distributed in 8 wards, 4 wards are for Male Surgical Patients and and 4 wards for female patients titled as Female Surgical Ward. The department has 6 units each headed by Professors. The department also has 10 beds for Dental Surgery. The Male Surgical Wards are located on second floor of new hospital Building and Female Surgical Wards are located on third floor of new hospital building. Department of surgery is located on second floor of new hospital building.

The department of Surgery conducts teaching programme for 2nd and 3rd MBBS students in addition to the surgical work of attending OPD, Ward work and performing Major and Minor Surgeries including Endoscopies. The teaching includes classroom teaching and bed side clinics. The super specialty branches of the department are Pediatric surgery, Plastic- surgery, Onco Urosurgery, Surgical Gastro Enterology, Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery & Surgical Endocrinology.



Critical Care - Surgery

SICU

SICU 1 - This is 20 bedded unit meant for critical surgical patients pre and post operatively. Including oncosurgical patients.

SICU 2 - (ENT, Ophthal , Obgy): This is 8 bedded well equipped ICU to manage the post operative patient of ENT , Ophthal & Obgy.
